Space Invaders

Though simplistic by today's standards, it was one of the forerunners of modern video gaming and helped expand the video game industry from a novelty to a global industry. When first released, Space Invaders was very successful and popular. Following its release, the game caused a temporary shortage of 100-yen coins in Japan, and by 2007 had earned Taito US$500 million in revenue. Guinness World Records ranks it the top arcade game.

Frogger

Frogger is an arcade game introduced in 1981. It was developed by Konami, and licensed for worldwide distribution by Sega/Gremlin. The game is regarded as a classic and was noted for its novel gameplay and theme. Frogger is still popular and versions can be found on many Internet game sites. The object of the game is to direct frogs to their homes one by one. To do this, each frog must avoid cars while crossing a busy road and navigate a river full of hazards. The skillful player may obtain many bonuses along the way.

Asteroids

Asteroids is a video arcade game released in 1979 by Atari Inc. It was oneof the most popular and influential games of the Golden Age of Arcade Games. Asteroidsuses vector graphics and a two-dimensional view thatwraps around in both screen axes. The player controls a spaceship in an asteroid fieldwhich is periodically traversed by flyingsaucers. The object of the game is to shoot and destroy asteroids andsaucers while not colliding with either, or being hit by the saucers'counter-fire.

Tic Tac Toe

Tic-tac-toe, also called noughts and crosses, hugs and kisses, and many other names, is a pencil-and-paper game for two players, O and X, who take turns marking the spaces in a 3×3 grid, usually X going first. The player who succeeds in placing three respective marks in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row wins the game. Players soon discover that best play from both parties leads to a draw. Hence, tic-tac-toe is most often played by young children; when they have discovered an unbeatable strategy they move on to more sophisticated games such as dots and boxes or 12 Cell tic-tac-toe. This reputation for ease has led to casinos offering gamblers the chance to play tic-tac-toe against trained chickens—though the chicken is advised by a computer program.
