WWGR General Contest Rules
1. Eligibility: Unless otherwise noted, WWGR contests are open to any resident of the greater Fort Myers/Naples/Marco Island, FL metro area 18 years old or older. No purchase is necessary. An individual is permitted to win one prize per 30 day period and one major prize (cash or merchandise valued at $1000 and over) per calendar year. Only one winner per household is permitted for an individual contest. The employees and families of WWGR, Renda Broadcasting (and its successors), Participating Sponsors/promotional partners, their respective parent corporations, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotions agents, their families, and employees of any radio station within the Fort Myers/Naples total survey area, as designated by Arbitron are ineligible for contests.
2. Entries: All contest entries become the property of WWGR. Submitted entries cannot be returned. WWGR is not responsible for entries lost or stolen after they are mailed or for entries deposited in registration boxes. WWGR is not responsible for call-in contestants who are lost or disconnected before completing a contest thru line failures, contest operator error or signal failure.
3. Prize Delivery: All prizes need to be picked up at the WWGR studios with in 30 days of winning or the prize or it is forfeited. Prizes may be mailed upon written request to the promotion department. WWGR is not responsible for any prizes lost or stolen after mailing or for any prize lost or stolen after the winner has claimed them from the station. Bulky or irreplaceable prizes may have to be picked up at the studios. Winners must be prepared to show identification.
4. Prize Deadlines: Winners have thirty days in which to claim a prize. Any prize not claimed within the allotted time will become the property of WWGR. Concert or event tickets must be claimed by 12:00 p.m. of performance or event day or they become the property of WWGR. If the event is on a weekend or holiday the tickets must be claimed by 3:00 p.m. of the last business day preceding the event. WWGR offices are closed on major holidays.
5. Taxes and Liability: All winners must provide their social security number when requested. Failure to provide your social security number will result in instant disqualification, and the next eligible person will be selected as the winner. Unless otherwise noted winners are responsible for any and all taxes which may be due or which may become due from accepting the prize. Contest winnings will be reported to the Internal Revenue Service and winners can expect to receive a 1099 tax form for prizes which total more than $600 for the year.
6. Acceptance of a prize releases WWGR, its sponsors and advertisers from all liability and claims concerning the prize, its delivery, and its use. A signed 'Prize Release' acknowledging this release and the tax liability may be required as a condition of the winner receiving the prize at WWGR's discretion.
7. Release: Winners grant WWGR and its contest sponsors the right to use his/her name, image, recorded voice and photograph to publicize the contest and the awarding of the prize, but not to advertise the sponsors and their services. By participating in an on-air contest, callers grant WWGR permission to record and broadcast the contestants voice and name. All other information obtained from the winner will never be shared with any outside source with the exception of tax information with the IRS.
8. All prizes are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.
9. WWGR cannot be held responsible for allegations of telephone malfunctions. In any event where a discrepancy may exist between website and on-air information, as a radio station, the on-air content shall supersede website materials. In addition, WWGR will be excused from its obligation to air the contest if its performance is delayed or prevented due to causes beyond its control, including, but not limited to acts of God, public enemies, war, civil disorder, fire, flood, hurricanes, explosion, labor disputes or strikes, and any acts by any governmental authority.
10. WWGR assumes the right to discontinue a contest and to change these and any contest rules at any time. Decisions of management are final in all cases.
11. Additional Rules: Additional rules for individual contests will be available at the WWGR studios and by mail upon request.
12. A copy of these rules may be obtained by visiting the WWGR office during business hours (Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm).
